2023 TRACK & FIELD MODIFIED SOPs
Updated 4/12/2023
Meet Start Time: 3:00 pm, if possible; 3:30 at the latest.
Host Team will determine if entries need to be made in advance or if you can put athletes in events at the meet. This will probably be determined by whomever is operating the scoring system. Host Team will need to communicate to other teams competing if athletes need to be entered into their events prior to the meet.
Any athlete, regardless of heat or flight, can score in the meet.
100, 200, 400, 800, Hurdles
First two heats should have the fastest runners (no more than four (4) from each school). After that, heats will be filled pursuant to heat assignments (if pre-registration was required) or just by filling the heats.
1600m
The maximum number of runners in one race is 16. If there are more than 16 runners, there will be two heats, with the first heat having the fastest runners. This can be modified on a meet-by-meet basis, but requires unanimous agreement by the head coaches of the schools who have athletes in the race.
3200m
The maximum number of runners in one race is 20. If there are more than 20 runners, there will be two heats, with the first heat having the fastest runners. This can be modified on a meet-by-meet basis, but requires unanimous agreement by the head coaches of the schools who have athletes in the race.
Long Jump and Triple Jump
Pits will be open for 90 minutes. All athletes will get four attempts. There will be no finals. There will be a maximum 20-minute warmup time between the girls and boys events.
High Jump
Starting height will be 4’ for girls and 5’ for boys, unless coaches unanimously agree to a different starting height. There will be a maximum 20-minute warmup time between the girls and boys events.
Pole Vault
Starting height will be 6’ for girls and 8’ for boys, unless coaches unanimously agree to a different starting height. There will be a maximum 30-minute warmup time between the girls and boys events.
Shot, Discus, Javelin
These events will be in flights. The first one or two flights will have the “best” throwers (no more than four (4) from each school). Athletes in the first one or two flights will get four (4) throws. All remaining athletes will get three throws. The number of athletes in each flight will be determined by the host school to maximize efficiency of the event. There are no finals.
ROLLING SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Coaches meeting will be 15 minutes prior to the start of the meet.
Meet results must be posted to Athletic.net within 24 hours of the conclusion of the meet.
