To help students start the school year successfully, the Ridgeline High School Counseling Team will be offering a Schedule Change Event on Thursday, August 20, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. RHS student leaders will be available to provide tours of the building for incoming 9th graders and new students during this time.
While counselors strive to create the best possible schedule for every student, please understand that this can be challenging with more than 1,500 students. This event is intended for students who may have a scheduling issue, such as being placed in the wrong course (for example, an incorrect math placement), having an incomplete schedule (such as a missing class period), or requesting a different elective option.
Unfortunately, counselors will not be able to accommodate requests for a specific teacher or lunch period in order to be with friends.
For students who are unable to attend the Schedule Change Event, counselors will provide a Google Form that can be completed from home. To encourage attendance at the event, the form will open for responses on August 20 at 6:00 p.m. and will remain available until August 25 at 3:00 p.m. (the day before school begins). The same guidelines for schedule changes will apply to requests submitted through the Google Form.
Once school begins on August 26, students may submit a schedule change request form if additional adjustments are needed. This opportunity will only be available on August 26 and August 27 during school hours. Due to limited availability in many classes, only a small number of schedule changes will be possible at that time.
Students interested in making a schedule change for second semester should meet with their counselor between October 1 and January 22. We encourage students to schedule an appointment with their counselor during this window to discuss any desired changes. Please note that schedule changes will not be made once second semester begins.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to support all students in having a successful school year.
